Welcome Our New Massage Therapist

Please give a warm welcome to our new massage therapist, Shannon Berg!  The truth is, Shannon is not new to Zi Zai Dermatology.  For the last year, she has been in the role of office manager at our Fort Collins clinic. If you are not local, you may still know her –  you’ve spoken with her on the phone if you had inquiries or needed assistance with ordering our products, and she is the lovely lady shipping our fine products to you.  But she is a highly experienced massage therapist and her skills could no longer stay on sabbatical. So she is shifting gears and will now be providing client services at our Fort Collins clinic. She is currently enrolled in the Certified Lypossage therapist program for holistic cellulite reduction.  Upon completion, she will be the sole provider of this modality in northern Colorado.  You are going to love this new service!

Educational Foundation

Shannon received her initial training as a massage therapist after completing the certified program at the Colorado Springs Academy of Therapeutic Massage, in Colorado Springs, Colorado (now known as the Colorado Springs School of Massage). Her academic and clinical education included anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, ethics, and of course, hands-on training in several therapeutic massage modalities.

  • Certification, Massage Therapy: Colorado Springs Academy of Therapeutic Massage, 2000
  • Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.): State of Colorado, since 2000
  • National Certification in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork: National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), since 2004
  • Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder Technique): since 2004
  • Certified Master Medical Massage Therapist: since 2004

Advanced Training

The best therapists continue to receive advanced training and Shannon is continually progressive in her field. After interning with the U.S. Olympic Training Center and Pikes Peak Hospice, she opened her own clinic – Springs Medical Massage. She developed massage programs for autistic children, gymnasts training for the Olympics, rodeo athletes, and other elite athletes. She went on to teach in the Medical Massage Certification program and developed programs of therapeutic massage for Industrial Massage, Inc. and the Boeing Industrial Athlete Program. She trained other therapists for many years while simultaneously maintaining a private practice of her own in Loveland, Colorado. She eventually signed on as director at Spa Botanica in Loveland, Colorado previous to joining the Zi Zai Dermatology clinic in Fort Collins. Shannon is currently enrolled in the Certified Lypossage therapist program for holistic cellulite reduction.

Personal Background

Shannon grew up in Oklahoma enjoying the country life, riding horses and motorcycles. She was also involved in pageants, baton twirling (she was Miss Majorette of Oklahoma 1985) and teen modeling (she was a contestant on Oklahoma Star Search). Her active lifestyle in her youth led to injuries and an interest in skincare that took her down a path to natural health & healing. She enjoyed providing massage care for her family and friends when they were hurting and this ultimately led her to pursue a career in massage therapy. Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Human Resource Management from Colorado State University in 2010. Her experience in modeling and cosmetic sales working with major companies in the US and Japan has fueled her passion for natural alternatives to combat aging.

In her free time, you can find her volunteering her time to veterans’ causes, spending time with her husband, family (human & canine), friends, and decorating her loving home.
