Rare Opportunity for Employment with Zi Zai Dermatology

Part-time Position Crafting Skin Care Products

Zi Zai Dermatology in Fort Collins, Colorado, is a small but growing company that handcrafts all-natural skin care products using Chinese herbs.  We make ointments, liniments, soap, lotions and more.  Formulations are based on the principals of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine.  You do not need to know anything about herbs to be awesome at this position.  But we do want you to have some pretty unique skills.

We want to hire a crafty person who is:

  1. Experienced in making simple ointments.
  2. Experienced in crafting cold process soap.
  3. Experienced in making emulsions (i.e., lotions and/or liquid soap, shampoo, hair conditioner) with preservatives.

In addition to the above skills, we are looking for someone with other traits that are important if you are going to work for us. We want to hire a person who:

  1. Is comfortable working by themselves for extended hours. It can get a tad lonely in the lab some days.  If you are a social butterfly and need coworkers to chat with, you probably won’t be very happy in this position for long.
  2. Is neat and tidy. This job requires you to be mindful of keeping a clean work environment at all times. Even though you will likely make messes, you need to be self-motivated to clean them up fast and be sanitary.
  3. Cares about accuracy. We need someone who can be accurate in their simple math calculations, in weighing and measuring ingredients, in pouring and packaging products, and in applying labels to finished products.
  4. Cares about the quality of their work. We want a person who wants to create something that they can be proud of.  A true craftsman.
  5. Is a committed team member. It takes time to train for this position and we want to invest in someone who will stay with our team for several years.  If you just need a job for the next year, this is not the position for you.

We hope to find someone already qualified to make general skin care products, but of course we will train you on the specifics of our formulations and processes.  At the time of this posting, we need someone for approximately 24 hours per week (3 days per week: M,W,F).

Email cover letter (introduction to who you are) and resume to:  herbalist@zizaidermatology.com
